Description

A button from Paul Simon’s campaign to win the Democratic party’s nomination for Governor of Illinois in 1972.  He lost the nomination, though he would later win election as a US Senator from the state.  In 1988 he sought the Democratic party’s presidential nomination.  Though he briefly led in the polls, he would ultimately lose to Michael Dukakis.
