Description

This button was used by New York Governor Thomas Dewey in his attempt to win the presidency as the Republican candidate against Harry Truman in 1948. His running mate was Californian Governor Earl Warren who would later become Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. He lost (in spite of what the Chicago Tribune might have said).
